Track Rules

 

Please read, understand and follow all these rules carefully before enjoying your race:

 

  • Obey the track attendant's instructions
  • Mind your own safety and the safety of others as well
  • You have to be mentally, physically and medically fit
  • You must always be wearing a Hwy. Traffic Act approved helmet
  • You must not be under the influence of any substances
  • Keep both of your hands on the wheel at all times
  • Keep both of your feet inside the Go-Kart at all times
  • The Gas Pedal is on the right and the brake pedal is on the left
  • Completely focus on your driving (no smoking, no alcohol, no drugs, no food or drinks, no cell phones, no cameras, no pets etc.)
  • No stopping, bumping, cutting off or swearing on the track
  • Long hair must be tied above the shoulder and loose clothing must be secured
  • Fasten and secure your seat belt and never release it
  • Pass the other racers on the left side and safely let them pass you on your left side
  • At the end of each lap, safely come to a complete stop at the end line and hand the track attendant the ticket for the next lap
  • Knowing that the kart has no reverse and that the tack is one way, in case the kart spins out or turns in the opposite direction or the engine turns off, never leave your kart for any reason, you will soon be assisted by the track attendant
  • There are no restrictions on weight, however, according to TSSA rules, the following conditions must be met:
    1. To ride alone on the fast track, you must be at least 11 years old and at least 52" (132 cm) tall
    2. Kids between 8 -11 years old can either ride free with an adult on a double seater Kart on the fast track or ride alone on a kiddie Kart on the junior track
    3. Kids between 3 - 8 years old can only ride free with an adult on a double seater Kart on the fast track
    4. Kids under 3 years old cannot ride on the Go-Karts

 

Note: Only Shanty Bay Go-Karts' TSSA (Technical Standard and Safety Authority of the Government of Ontario) approved helmets and karts can be used on the Shanty Bay Go-Karts approved track and guardrail.
